On 26 and 27 November the Centre for Frugal Innovation in Africa, in cooperation with the EADI working group ‘Frugal Innovation and Development’, organizes a workshop on frugal innovations and inclusiveness.
Next to debating empirical case studies and giving presentations, during the workshop we would like to work towards synthesizing these cases to see how we can advance our understanding of frugal innovation and development. We have received contributions from different geographical regions and different disciplinary fields (from technical sciences to social sciences and humanities).
In addition to academic presentations on a range of topics related to frugal innovation and inclusiveness the Friday afternoon session includes a presentation by the new Prince Claus Chair on 'Frugal Innovation for Development and Equity' and an interactive brainstorm session wherein we aim to come closer to an understanding of where and when inclusiveness is more likely to occur in a selection of frugal innovation cases.
