Kavita Bundelkhandi is a noted Indian journalist and news presenter, and currently runs a grassroots feminist news network Khabar Lahariya. Hailing from an acutely exploited social group in India, Kavita's rise represents an intersectional struggle against caste-based and gender-based exploitation. Kavita Bundelkhandi is an inspiration to many, encouraging several Dalit (who have historically been treated as 'untouchables') women to articulate their stories and struggles to the world.
A recent documentary 'Writing with Fire' features her work and intervention at the grassroots level in India. The documentary has been nominated for the Oscars in 2022. You can watch the trailer here:
